Most keys activate online in a few seconds. If Windows or Office shows a message that online activation is not possible, you can activate by phone using Microsoft’s official telephone activation. It is free and takes about 5 minutes.
Windows 10 / Windows 11
- Make sure you have already entered your product key under Settings > System > Activation > Change product key.
- Press Windows key + R, type
slui 4and press Enter. - Select your country or region and click Next.
- Call the toll-free number shown on the screen. Microsoft’s automated system will ask you to read out the Installation ID (the groups of numbers on your screen).
- Type the Confirmation ID you hear into the boxes and click Activate.
Office 2024 / 2021 / 2019, Project and Visio
- Open any Office app, for example Word.
- When the activation window appears, choose I want to activate the software by telephone. (You can also go to File > Account > Activate Product.)
- Select your country or region and call the number shown.
- Read out the Installation ID, then type the Confirmation ID you receive and click Next.
